Specialized Couples Counseling

Specialized couples counseling supports partners navigating major family transitions that can place new strain on communication, expectations, and emotional connection. This work is especially helpful for couples preparing for parenthood, blending families, stepping into new parenting or step-parent roles, or learning how to co-parent more effectively during or after relationship changes. These transitions often bring unspoken assumptions, shifting responsibilities, and emotional stress that can be difficult to navigate without support.

In counseling, we focus on strengthening communication, clarifying roles and expectations, and addressing challenges that commonly arise during these transitions—such as differing parenting styles, boundary setting, loyalty concerns, decision-making, and managing relationships with former partners. My approach is collaborative and solution-focused, drawing from evidence-based couples therapy practices to help you develop practical strategies you can use outside of sessions. The goal is to support healthier patterns of interaction, reduce ongoing tension, and help couples build a more stable, connected, and cooperative family system—so you can move forward with greater confidence and alignment during this next phase of life.
